Start the Night Salem at Bernadette

Salem in October is known for Halloween, but the city is also home to a growing community of independent restaurants, chefs, farmers and producers. We created Start the Night Salem for locals and visitors who want food and hospitality to be part of their experience here.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in October, guests can stop into Bernadette’s bar anytime between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Begin the evening with a complimentary nonalcoholic welcome sip and warm cheese gougères, then explore fall cocktails, curated wine flights and a special menu of Bernadette Bites available for purchase.

There is no need to stay for dinner—or for the entire event. Come by for a drink and a few bites before heading out for the evening, and experience a taste of Bernadette even when a dining-room reservation may be difficult to find.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in October 2026. Stop in anytime from 5–6:30 p.m.

Bernadette’s bar and rail are reserved for guests ages 18 and older. Please note: A 20% gratuity will be added to all checks.
